Matrix : How to set 2X10 touch screen desktop panel into IVC mode

Connecting the panel to an E-IPA-HX card (IVC)
Network Considerations:
As this is an IP connection type, you need to take care with the network settings for the panel and the host system (EHX).

You need to:
• Set the panel IP address. By default, connection type is fixed (static). These details are found in Network > Setup in the panel menu.

• Give the panel the host system IP address. In this case that is the IP address of the IPA / IVC card you are connecting to. Edit these details in Network > Connect in the panel menu.

Note: You can use DHCP for a quick test setup, but static IP addressing is recommended for a final installation.

The panel and the E-IPA card must be able to see each other over the network. Depending on the network topology, you may need to set; IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, External IP address and External Port for the panel and the E-IPA card.

The Network Connection type (LAN, WAN, Internet) must be correctly set in EHX in IP Port Options.

When connecting over internet, the host IP address that you give to the panel must be external address of the E-IPA card. You must also set the external port. Network Connection type must be set to Internet in the EHX configuration software.

Connection:
Before connecting the panel, you must configure a IVC panel port for it and set a user ID and password in EHX. Refer to the EHX configuration manual for information.

  1. Connect the cable. Run an Ethernet cable from the port labeled Ethernet on the back of the panel to the Eth-Switch.

  2. On the panel, set the connection type. Go to the panel menu system by pressing Mode and turning the rotary encoder at the same time. Navigate to MISC > [Next] Panel Type (page 4 of 7) and select Clear-Com IVC.

  3. Set the IP address of the panel. Navigate to: Network > Setup > [Next] (Page 2 of 6) Panel Fixed Address. Select Edit and input the panel IP address using the keypad (DHCP must be disabled). Press OK.

  4. Give the panel the IP address of the E-IPA card. Navigate to Network > Connect > Setup > Host (page 2 of 2). Select Edit and input the E-IPA IP address using the keypad. Press OK. See Network Considerations above for guidance.

  5. Give the panel the host system User ID and Password (Page 2 of 2). The user ID and password on the panel must match the ones set in EHX exactly.

  6. The panel connects to the matrix (up to 1 minute)
