Matrix: What are the benefits in EHX Preferences setup for the IP Security for V-Series or Iris Panel- IP Port lockdown?

  • The EHX Preferences setup for the IP Security of the V-Series Iris Panel, specifically regarding IP Port Lockdown, offers several key benefits. These advantages enhance security and ensure more controlled access to the panel, ultimately improving the overall integrity of the system.

  • V-Series Iris Panel - IP Port Lockdown

  • EHX v. 13 and above: This security feature enables you to restrict all non-essential IP ports on panels that are not required for audio transmission. You can activate IP port lockdown in the EHX system Preferences. Once this feature is enabled, all panels connected to a matrix will have unnecessary IP ports blocked. A single panel can be unlocked via its front panel menu; however, as long as IP security remains enabled in the system preferences, the ports will be blocked again upon rebooting the panel and reconnecting it to the matrix.

The following ports are blocked when this feature is activated:

  • UDP 5000: IP (IVC) panel discovery

  • UDP 67: DHCP

  • UDP 68: DHCP

  • UDP 5353: mDNS

  • TCP 80: CCM

  • TCP 8080: Alternative HTTP port

  • TCP 443: CCM HTTPS

  • TCP 873: Typically used for resync
