Matrix: What is Destination Assigner?
This standalone application was created to quickly assign microphone pack ports to the listen portion of a panel's lever key without using EHX or DynamEC (Dynam-EC™ ) which would be the more usual way to do this.
It consists of two files:
The SourceAndDestination.xml can be opened with any text editor (such as Notepad) and starts with the IP address of the CPU card in the EclipseHX frame:
<Eclipse IP="100.121.29.100" Port="52020"/>
The port is in the range of 52001 to 52020 and the most likely issue with the application is that port already being in use. We avoid 52001-52010 because that's where EHX is likely to connect.
Then we have a list of the possible sources - the microphone pack ports:
<Port Name="Mic 27" Number="155"/>
These are the values that show in the drop down list:
When a port is selected, it will be placed as the listen key on specific panels in a specific place. Those places are defined under "Destinations":
<Key PanelCard="1" PanelPort="1" Page="1" Number="13"/>
<Key PanelCard="1" PanelPort="2" Page="1" Number="13"/>
This is saying that the panel that is connected on EclipseHX matrix card 1, port 1 needs to have a key which is on page 1 (main page of eight) in position 13 changed whenever the drop down option is changed.
There is a list of destinations because multiple panels need to be updated so their listen key lines up with the microphone pack in use.
Technology has moved on and these days Clear-Com would recommend using Dynam-EC, lock down the user interface to just show Studio IFBs and use the IFB return feature to assign a microphone to everyone who has that IFB on their panel.
