Matrix : What is audio level averaging

On my intercom panel, when i adjust the xpt level control pots on the panel, I cannot hear the audio on the 4wire port i am listening to. The level appears to go low when I listen to a partyline and the 4wire at the same time

 

Solution

The matrix by default uses what we call level gain averaging

Goto EHX > Configuration> Preferences > Panel operation

When Average panel volume is disabled. The highest xpt level wins
