If you wish to change the IP address this is done from the front panel.

If you need to make any changes to the PTP setting then this can be done from the Options > GPS menu from the front panel or perhaps more easily from the Setup > PTP menu from the browser.

IMPORTANT > CHECK MENTOR HAS GPS LOCK

Once the antenna is connected to the Mentor RG, it will take a couple of minutes to pick up satellites.  Depending how clear a view of the sky the antenna has it should see 10 or more satellites, however anything in excess of 5 satellites is acceptable.  After 10 minutes to 15 minutes the GPS should achieve lock to the 1PPS.  When the 1PPS has locked to GPS the ‘GPS’ LED on the front panel will illuminate green.

When the front panel GPS LED goes green the RG is now successfully connected to the antenna.  For completeness can you browse to the RG and open the Status page, this screen will show the GPS and 1PPS states.  The GPS state should be green for ‘Serial data’ and ‘Receiver state’,  check the satellites used is greater than 5.  The 1PPS state should be green for both ‘Present’ and ‘Locked’.

Finally, the ‘RTC state’ should report ‘Locked to GPS’

If browsing into the RG is inconvenient, it is also possible to check the GPS state from the front panel.  Select the Options button, navigate to GPS > Status.  The Status screen should report the bold options:

Satellites used <number greater than 5>

Serial Date <ok / not okay>

1PPS  <ok / not okay>

<Locked / not locked> to 1PPS

The select Status button > RTC Status > Status should be ‘Locked to GPS’.
