Matrix: New Install - E-IPA Card Capabilities and Network Configuration
The E-IPA card is a required piece of hardware when wanting to connect a FreeSpeak IP Transceiver (for FSII or FS Edge), as well as any other IP connections, including but not limited to:
IVC Directs to other Eclipse frames
IVC Directs with an Arcadia
IVC Directs with an LQ
SIP
Virtual Clients like Agent-IC or Station-IC
FreeSpeak transceivers/antennas like the IP Transceiver (1.9 GHz) and FS Edge Transceiver (5 GHz)
On the back of the card you will find four (4) network or RJ-45 LAN copper connections and two (2) SFP ports that you can use fibre connections to a Ethernet switch. This allows you to split up your traffic between different VLANs or networks. Here is an example of this workflow:
In this example, we are taking IVC and Administration and putting it on the same VLAN (subnet) which will also be on the same VLAN (subnet) as the EHX-PC controlling the Eclipse frame.
Then on LAN#3 we have AES67, which used for communication to the IP Transceivers for FreeSpeak II and FreeSpeak Edge.
This allows you to split up the traffic to ensure that the AES67 traffic doesn’t create any issues on the larger network.
