What if my E-Dante card is rebooting constantly?

We have seen that changing the Dante Configuration to support >4 channels per Multicast flow can cause issues on Clear-Com Dante products.

You will see issues if you go to the Dante device page Tx tab and select devices->Create Multicast Tx flow, and select more than 4 channels in a single flow. The image below shows multiple channels added to the flow, which would likely cause process crashes (leading to a Edante card reset, or Arcadia watchdogs).

Creating multiple flows with 4 or less channel does not cause a problem, and in fact up to about 8 channels seem to only cause non-destructive problems. More than that (say 16?) will typically cause a crash.

If a system gets into this state, on Arcadia the Brooklyn module stays alive long enough to allow the config to be changed over to a good configuration before the unit Watchdog and recover the unit.

It is not so easy on a E-Dante card as it reboots immediately, in general, - however often it reboots so quickly that the BK module seemingly doesn't save it's config so that can help.

Confirmed not to be dependent on Brooklyn generation – crash has been seen using Brooklyn 2 and 3 devices

Looking for labels? They can now be found in the details panel on the floating action bar.
