FSII-BASE-II: 4W Noise/Buzz/Ground Hum

Qns:

When a 4W port is assigned to a Channel, there is a noise that sounds like a ground loop hum/buzz.

We have used a known good 4W cable but the issue persists across all four 4W ports.

What are some steps to check for the cause?

Ans:

4W is balanced audio using separate send and return paths. It is possible that the device on the other end of the connection is introducing the noise. It is also possible that the FSII-BASE-II requires earthing via the earth stud on the back.

Remove the 4W cable from the other connected device and check if noise persists.

If yes, please try earthing the unit. You may wish to engage your on-site electrician for assistance if unsure.
