LQ: How to unbrick (USB Recovery) a LQ unit #2

“have a LQ-R4W8 on my Desk stuck in booting. Is there a way to push the firmware into the unit? Actually I did not find anything here. Maybe a procedure similar to FSIIBaseII using the MFG Tool? or maybe over a serial connection? “

 

 

You can try and recover from USB. Here are instructions to format a USB stick so LQ can boot from it:

  1. Extract win32diskimager-1.0.0-install.zip utility (attached)

  2. Extract LQ-4.2.7.0.mrcard.gz. You will see the file “image-release-lq-imx6dlcc-20210310130451.rootfs.mrcard” (attached)

  3. Insert a blank USB Key

  4. Run the executable win32diskimager-1.0.0-install.exe

  5. Select the file “image-release-lq-imx6dlcc-20210310130451.rootfs.mrcard” and the drive of the blank USB Key, press “Write”

  6. Once finished, insert the USB Key in LQ

  7. Power cycle LQ

  8. LQ will boot to USB Key (It may be a bit longer than usual)

  9. Connect through CCM

  10. Verify that the LQ has internet access

  11. Go to the LQ CCM, in Device > Network > Security ->  Click regenerate certificate and wait for it to complete

  12. Do another firmware upgrade via CCM. It will automatically reboot.

  13. During reboot, remove USB

  14. Power cycle the device once more.

  15. You should be able to boot into the newly upgrade software.
