Does the Clear-Com Licensing System Save IP or MAC Addresses when Exporting the Reference File in the CCM?
The E-IPA card has two types of licenses installed. One is for the port count, the second is for AoIP (AES67) for streaming audio to a recording device. In both cases, the license is normally installed at the Clear-Com factory.
There may be times however when you might need to upgrade a card or install a license while on-site and within a secure facility. To install the license you must go through the offline process which you will find here on the Clear-Com public Solution Finder.
Question is whether or not the E-IPA card exports any sensitive data when downloading the reference file from the E-IPA’s CCM web Gui?
Answer is no, it does not have any sensitive information. According to Wibu USA (who supports the licensing scheme) the catalog of hardware components are gathered and we implement a Hashed function. Within the context request file, we only keep the Hashed value. There is no method to read the exact IP Address or Mac Address from this Hashed value.
