Partyline: How to connect an Clear-Com belt pack to a computer sound card
Partyline: How to connect an Clear-Com belt pack to a computer sound card
The easiest way to do this is to make a female 4pin XLR connection to two 3.5mm tip/ring connectors (mono).Solder pin I of the XLR to the sleeve of the computer mic input and pin 2 of the XLR to the tip on the computer mic input.Solder pin 3 of the XLR to the sleeve of the computer headphone output and pin 4 of the XLR to the sleeve of the computer headphone output.
This method, though easy, is not optimum, as there will be impedance mismatches between systems
For a more professional way to do this, you can take our EF-701 2wire to 4wire interface and use that to convert the party line 2wire (3pin) connection to a 4wire circuit and pass audio in and out to/from the computer's sound card that way.
