Matrix: What do the switches on the AES-6 front card do

AES 6 Switch functions (S/W Version 2.02 onwards)

Switches 1,2,3

Select Stereo operation for interfaces 1,3,5 respectively.

Switch 4 (Mode)

When off (switch in left position), the AES interface acts as a clock source and enables the connection of  legacy (4000 series) or V-Series AES panels to an Eclipse matrix MVX card. The AES-6 card automatically detects panel type and makes necessary protocol conversion. When on (switch in right position), the AES interface operates in '3rd party' mode – the interface works from a clock recovered from the connected AES network. When in this mode, the AES-6 can automatically detect and connect a V-Series AES panel connected remotely over the 3rd party network. Legacy (4000 series) panels are not compatible with this mode of operation.
Panels should not be connected directly to the AES-6 when the mode switch is in the 'ON' 3rd party mode
