We have had a request from a customer about the possibilityof providing 2 additional Tempest belt backs to be held as spares. Currentlytheir system is set up with 5 belt packs and the system is setup in Normal mode (which supports 5x BPs in full duplex operation ). Their intention isto use an additional 2 belt packs as spares to replace one of the 5 should there be anissue with a belt pack.  How would we go about registering these 2 Additional Beltpacks to the system so that when they bring them on line and remove one faulty BP it still allows normal operation
Answer: The customer can register all the BP’s (x7) to the same Tempest basestation and thefirst 5 units that power up will get allocated the other units will not As long as theBaseStation is set to ‘Dynamic’ display slot assignments (number 6 in the techmenu), the first 5 belts powered on will log in. 
BTW: each beltpack can store upto 64 different basestation pairings and the user can then manually switch from working with one basestation to another in a matter of a few key strokes.
