is the PL output of the FreeSpeak basestation output completely fail proof, so that any short on PL power output will not impact base performance in any way?
Yes:
The FS10 PL connector is fail proof and any short on the PL power will not stop or impact the basestation.
The display on the FS10 will show a warning message that the PL is in short circuit and disabled. Once the short is removed the PL will recover automatically after a few seconds
