Matrix: Cannot connect to Eclipse HX frame. The frame is shown as grey on the layout screen
In the Layout screen in EHX my matrix is grey, indicating that it has no connection to EHX. I seem to be unable to apply changes to the matrix using EHX. I was able to change the IP address of the matrix and detect the new hardware, but EHX reports that a timeout occurred when I attempt to download to the matrix.
Furthermore I am using a crossover cable out of the back of my laptop into LAN1 of the matrix. I am able to ping the matrix’s new address that I programmed in, and it displays the new address when I hit the ENG button on the front of the master card. I have disabled DHCP in ‘Configure Matrix IP Settings’ from the layout screen.
Is there something I am missing?
Answer: Turn OFF the firewall on your PC/ Laptop and re-test: Check your PC's IP address and subnet matches the matrix IP address and subnet settings (same subnet mask but IP address should be different)
