Question: We recently upgraded our Matrix Plus 3 intercom system to an Eclipse 5.2 intercom system using V-Series panels and expansion panels at all our user positions. One feature that I couldn't find in Eclipse is the ability to use the expansion panel only as the assignment panel for IFBs. Is this feature available in ECS?
Answer: While ECS 5.2 supports multiple expansion panels of the same key type for the main panel that they are connected to, ECS currently does not support the use of the expansion panel only for assignment panel functions (IFBs, Fixed Groups and Party-lines). The main panel and expansion panels will all go into assignment panel mode when the assignment panel function is activated at the main panel by pressing keypad button # 4.
