Wireless: On FreeSpeak basestation V2.0.4 can the IP address and Subnet mask be set?
Question:
On the FS-base (CellCom base) you can set the IP address but can you set the subnet mask and default gateway?
Answer:You can set the IP address via the front panel of the base stations programming screen or by using the config editor on the toolkit software.
Unfortunately - you cannot set the subnet or default gateway on a FS-base unit. The subnet mask defaults to the IP address set on the unit. Depending on which IP class you set, the basestation will determine the default subnet mask
Class | IP address Start | IP address End | Default Subnet Mask in dotted decimal | CIDR notation |
---|---|---|---|---|
A | 0.0.0.0 | 127.255.255.255 | 255.0.0.0 | /8 |
B | 128.0.0.0 | 191.255.255.255 | 255.255.0.0 | /16 |
C | 192.0.0.0 | 223.255.255.255 | 255.255.255.0 | /24 |
