Matrix: Installing EHX 8.5.2 and gets an error message. "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Installed EHX on a WIN10 platform. 
After apparent successful install when attempting to run EHX it resulted in an error of "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."  
Typical fix would be to run the "hotfix" tool. If this doesn't work installing EHX 8.8 or later could fix the error message. 
The customer would still need to use the version of EHX that is installed on the frame for normal operation. 

or if when starting EHX it crashes and creates a EHXxxx error.saencryptedreport file

it is likely you need to apply the hotfix
