Wireless: Can I use more than 4 WTR-670 beltpacks on a WBS-670 base station?

Question:  My customer wants to buy 8 WTR-670 beltpacks for use with a single WBS-670 base station. Is this a good idea, can the user make this work and if so how?
Answer:  Yes more than 4 WTR-670 beltpacks can work with a single WBS-670 base station provided the WTR beltpacks are set to push to talk RF mode. This means when a beltpack user presses the talk button on the beltpack they are activating both the audio and RF transmit functions on that beltpack. In this configuration the user is now capable of sharing the 4 RF channels on the base station provided the users are properly trained to know when they can talk / not talk on the system. In this mode the users are sharing RF channels, they can all turn on their beltpacks and listen on the common receive channels, but depending on how the beltpacks are distributed amongst the 4 available transmit only one user per RF transmit channel can talk at a time, the same way 2-way radios on the same channel talk / listen. If two users try to talk at the same time on the same channel they will create interference on that channel / cancel out their talks on that channel.
See below the layout diagram of the Push to Talk Audio / Push to Talk RF switch on the WTR-670 beltpack.

1. [MENU] and [SET] buttons – Used to select menus and set options on the LCD.
2. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
3. [UP] and [DOWN] buttons – Used to select beltpack options on the LCD.
4. Microphone Gain – Adjusts the headset’s microphone gain. Adjust so that the BAT/OM LED will flash at the beginning of most words at normal speech levels
5. Push-to-Talk/Push-to-Transmit Switch – Push-to-Talk (PT TALK) – The transmitter is always on. No audio is sent unless the talk button is pressed.  Recommended position.
Push-to-Transmit (PT TX) - The transmitter and audio paths are off except when the talk button is pressed.
