Matrix: How do I breakout audio directly from an Eclipse MVX-16 port to 3-pin XLRs?
Question: I need to breakout audio directly from an Eclipse matrix frame MVX-A16 port out to 3-pin XLR connectors, one male and one female. Can you provided the wiring details that will allow me to create a cable for this purpose?
Answer: See the drawing below for wiring instructions, this will allow you to inject balanced audio into the Eclipse frame and to take balanced audio from the Eclipse frame and route it to a 3rd party device like a mixing console.
The breakout cable is also an excellent tool for testing audio into and out of a MVX-A16 port, the cable can be connected to a Radio Designs Labs PT-AMG-2 audio tester.
