IP-Voice: Voice 2 First time setup instructions

This guide assumes that the user is first time setting up the IP addressing of Voice 2 interfaces. For detailed information on setting up the Configuration / Voice and Configuration / Data screens please see the Voice 2.0.5 user manual.
1.  In order to setup Voice 2 units the user will need the following items:
a.  PC with web brower
b.  Ethernet Switch
c.  Standard CAT-5 cables
d.  Voice 2 interfaces (client and server)
2. A Voice 2 unit and its associated configuration PC must reside on the same IP subnet. The units LAN 1 port is adjustable to match your network. The units LAN 2 port has a fixed IP address of 10.0.0.1.  Temporarily configuring your PC to operate on the 10.0.0.x subnet, this will allow you to configure the unit via the LAN 2 port.
(Once this is complete, the first configuration change will be to modify the units LAN 1 IP address to match your network).
3. Power up the Voice 2 unit (approximately 60 seconds) connect the PC and Voice 2 unit LAN 2 port to a 10/100 Ethernet switch.  
4.  Perform this operation for all of your units, giving them each a separate, unique IP address.
a. Start your web browser.
b. Enter into the Address Bar “10.0.0.1”
c. Click GO
d. You will be prompted for a Username and a Password. The default values are:
Username = admin
Password = password
e. You should now see the main configuration page.
5. Click on the LAN #1 tab.
a. Change the IP address, Subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server to the values supplied by your network administrator.  It is quite normal that the DNS server is left blank.
b. Record the unit IP settings
c. Click on Submit.
d. After approximately 30 seconds you should see the network
setup screen again.
e. Check that all of the settings have been accepted and are correct.
6. Once the IP Address change is completed, connect the unit connection LAN1 to your LAN.
a. Return the PC to its normal settings and reconnect the Ethernet connection back to your LAN.
b. The unit should be accessible from any PC on your network – open your browser and put the IP Address in the Address Bar.
c. You should see the main configuration page.
d. Click on the ‘Client’ or ‘Server’ radiobutton to configure the unit as a client or server and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
