Term: Eclipse v5.2 Matrix "fixed group" communications explanation

  •  A Fixed Group is a collection of ports (panels and/or interfaces) and is designated by its group label.
  • A group label allows an operator to talk or listen to multiple ports at the same time.
Note: A fixed group facility does not provide communication within the group, only back to the  call originator (See diagram below)     


In the diagram above the DIR panel initiates a call to fixed group 'Tech', all three panels hear the call.  They only can respond back to the DIR panel via their reply key or direct talk key if it is programmed on their panels.
