HelixNet PL: Upgrading HelixNet bases / beltpacks from version 1.0 to version 1.1

To upgrade HelixNet HMS-4X base stations including 2-wire and 4-wire modules and connected HBP-2X beltpacks from firmware version 1.0 to 1.1 the user will need the firmware file with a .CCB extension on the root directory of a memory stick. Take the memory stick with the firmware update and connect it to the HMS-4X base station front panel USB connector and follow the steps below to upgrade the HelixNet system firmware:• Press the base station front panel “Menu” button to activate the menu tree• Using the lefthand most scroll knob rotate through the menu selections and select “administration”• Using the 2nd lefthand most scroll knob rotate through the menu selections and select “software”• Using the 3rd lefthand most scroll knob rotate through the menu selections and select “update”• When UPDATE is highlighted the righthand most display will show the firmware file on the memory stick, if this is correct then press the righthand most scroll knob in to start the firmware updateThe base station hardware will update first, the status messages will be seen on the base station LCD displays:File Components 6” will be displayed on the leftmost LCD display• then message “Erasing Flash”will be displayed on the 2nd most lefthand LCD display• then “New File” will be displayed on the 3rd most lefthand LCD display• then the message Successful Components will be displayed on the LCD screens of the base station and shortly after the base station will rebootThe HBP-2X beltpacks will now start to upgrade, the base station will display the following status messages on the LCD displays:• Loading 4X --> update in progress x# beltpacks DO NOT REBOOT ( “X” represents the number of beltpacks receiving upgrade file)The individual HBP-2X beltpacks LCD screen will display the following messages during the upgrade process:• Belts downloading• Erasing Flash• Writing• RebootingAfter the rebooting message clears out the beltpacks will reboot and come back up online with their normal channel programming. Check that all base station and beltpack firmware updated properly.
