Matrix: How do I use the call signal input on an FOR-22 interface card?
Matrix: How do I use the call signal input on an FOR-22 interface card?
The Call Signal input is used to receive a "call signal" or logic input from an external device and send it to the matrix. The voltage across the pins required to receive a call signal ranges from 4 Volts to 50 volts; it can be either positive or negative polarity or AC. The input will draw between 4 and 8 milliamps.
This input could by triggered by the call signal on a party-line RS-601 beltpack and patching the PL line pins 1 (ground) and pin 3 (audio + DC call signal) or by an external switched relay connnected to the FOR-22
Activation of the call signal / logic input can trigger a preset call on an Eclipse enabled panel provided the panel is setup to received call signals via the Matrix Ports and Hardware screen > Advanced Settings and the call signal from the FOR-22 is directed to the designated panel from the Local Advanced Screen > Preset Call Tab.
The logic inputs for the FOR-22 are accessed via the rear panel dB-9M connector pins 3 and 8, see drawing below:
