Wireless: Can I run Tempest T-Desk from a flash drive or CD?
Question: I want to temporarily use T-Desk on a rental PC that doesn't allow installations of software nor has access to the internet. Can I run Tempest from a CD or flash drive?
Answer: Yes, T-Desk can operate via a flash drive or CD.
From a CD drive - Insert the Tempest Wireless CD into your disc drive. Open the T-Desk folder and click T-Desk icon to run the program from the CD. You may copy & paste (or drag & drop) the entire T-Desk folder from the disc to a convenient location on your computer. Right-click the T-Desk icon and create a desktop shortcut. Note: Be sure that you copy the entire T-Desk folder so that the T-Desk40.dll file is included in the transfer. This file is required to run T-Desk.Note: if you save any profiles (setups for the basestation or beltpacks these cannot be saved back to the CD)
From a flash drive - You can copy & paste (or drag & drop) T-Desk onto most flash drives. Simply connect a flash drive to the USB port of the computer, locate T-Desk on your computer, and then copy & paste it to the flash drive. You can run T-Desk from the flash drive on any computer and access BaseStations as long as that computer is on the proper LAN. Note: Be sure that you copy the entire T-Desk folder so that the T-Desk40.dll file is included in the transfer. This file is required to run T-Desk.
