Wireless: Are there any functional limitations on Tempest Beltpacks in Shared mode?
Tempest systems utilizing version 2.0, 2.1 or later firmware are capable of three different modes of operation:
1. Normal Mode - up to five beltpacks per system with full duplex capabilities
2. Split Mode - 4 beltpacks capable of full duplex mode, fifth RF slot is shared mode (any number of BPS can listen on the Shared slot but only 1x BP at a time can trigger talk path)
3. Shared Mode - Up to 5 beltpacks can trigger talk paths simultaneously, unlimited # of BPs can listen
Beltstations operating inshared mode have the following limitations:
- No sidetone level control
- Momentary talk keys only
- When a talk key is pressed, thetalker’s listen volume level dips while the key is pressed. note: at version 2.10 the return listen level can be muted
- No remote telemetry from Beltstationson the base station or T-Desk
