Matrix: E-MADI card having problems syncing to black burst when PAL 8 field sequence flag is set.
Matrix: E-MADI card having problems syncing to black burst when PAL 8 field sequence flag is set.
Our customer found the reason why the MADI cards doesn’t sync onBB (Black Burst) on site. Part of the BB is a PAL 8 field sequence flag whichcan be set. It’s a white line in row 7 of the video signal which was used forediting. It was used in the past. Normally it is not needed any more but someolder equipment needs this flag e.g. to archive older videos. The MADI cards doesn’t sync on BB when this flag isset. The flag is set on our customer site. We have to check if thisflag is still needed but the MADI card should sync even if the flag is set. We do not know if NTSC also have flags in its BB but ifyou have trouble with BB sync anywhere in the world you should remember thatthis could be a problem.
