There are basically 2 ways for production talkback
You can use conferences (Party-line) or Groups There is no wrong or right way – just depends on how you want tosetup the studio
A) UsingConferences – when the Director talks to Sound, everyone hears the command , When Sound replies back – everyonehears their reply You can force the director’s micto be open all the time or you can provide him with a talk key You can also force all the control room panels to listen to the production conference by setting them up as fixedListen members or by using Talk – Forced listen keys
B) UsingGroups – you create Group #1 which has all the members that the Dir wants totalk to, Place a latching group # 1 key onthe director's panel When the director talks it goesout to everyone On the Sound panel create group #2 key which has Director & PA and any other sound crew members included in the groupWhen Sound reply back, their replyonly goes to the people in the sound group.
