Helixnet: HMS master station shows “Duplicate Ethernet connections”
Helixnet: HMS master station shows “Duplicate Ethernet connections”
We have experienced an issue 2 (maybe 3) times between recently. This issue caused the system to stop working until reboot. The master station shows an error message on front panel “duplicate Ethernet connections” and the remote stations lose their profiles. The error states to check for “duplicate Ethernet connections”.The system starts working again after a simple reboot of master station.
SolutionThis happens when the on-board Ethernet switch detects 20000 broadcast or 20000 multicast packets within 2 seconds on the network. The Ethernet port is turned off until a reboot is performed. This could happen if there is a duplicate IP address of if there is a network loop somewhere. Unless there is also something that occasionally floods the network with broadcast or multicast traffic
