Party-Line: Can I use the hot mic out of a V-Series panel to feed the external line input on a MA-704 IFB panel?
Yes, the balanced line level hot mic output on a V-Series panel cab be fed to the Encore MA-704 IFB controller.
The MA-704 external line level input is pinned as follows:
Tip = Audio input (unbalanced)
Ring = Controller signal
Sleeve = Ground
Take an unbalanced feed from the V-Series and feed the audio to the Tip on the TRS connector
Use the ground on the V-Series panel and wire it to the Sleeve on the TRS connector.
The Control signal on the Ring of the TRS connector is not used...the control signal is for an Encore station to mute its mic
to the comms channels while talking to an IFB destination.
