Helixnet: When upgrading the upgrade file is sometimes not found on the USB memory stick
Question: When doing a USB upgrade .. does the USB stick need to beformatted FAT32 or NTFS? Asking as we are seeing some memory sticks not take whendoing a standard USB upgrade …But if the same file is copied onto a different stick itworks fine. The file was placed on the root of the memory stick
Answer:
When in the software >upgrade menu ... we found that pressing the 4th encoder will force the main station to re-read the USB stick. This tends to fix most issues with the main station not finding the upgrade file
However to answer your specific question the USB should formatted as FAT32. But in v1.0there was also an issue with some USB stick that didn’t have a defaultpartition. That was fixed in 1.1 but because upgrading from 1.0 means runningthe 1.0 upgrade code, it also means that some USB sticks needs not onlyformatting but also creating a partition
