Matrix: How do I tell the Difference Between Median and Omega power supplies?

Matrix: How do I tell the Difference Between Median and Omega power supplies?

See the attached document which illustrates how to visually identify the Omega power supply unit and Median power supply unit.
Both PSU’s types have the same Form and Fit … but are not intended to be used interchangeably across systems. Our product UL certification states which PSU is approved for each system.
If the PS does not have the Part No: 720379Z printed on it,  DO NOT MIX power supplies from Omega and Median into the same frame. as it could result in system resets or the matrix cards locking up
- Mixing the PSU’s in one system could cause load balancing problems across the two supplies. (… as the voltages are not set identically on both PSU’s)
- The Omega PSU has reduced capacity to drive multiple interface cards (tel-14 etc).

From September 2009  Clear-Com introduced a new PSU module that could be used in BOTH Omega and Median frames. Part No: 720379ZThe same rules from above applies. Any pair of power supply modules fitted into a frame should be of the same type.
