Wireless: Tempest Belt Pack not registering and still says searching after pairing
If after attempting to PAIR belt packs with base station, the belt pack still says "REGISTERING" or "SEARCHING", we need to verify the firmware.
1. Hit the menu key on the Belt Pack then Select "BELT SETTINGS" > "DIAGNOSTICS" - Check the Radio Version and the Firm Ware Version. Compare this to a known good belt pack that is paired with the base station (and operational) following the same menu flow as stated earlier. Alternatively you can compare with the Base Station by pressing the menu key, selecting "BASE STATION SETTINGS" > "TECH MENU" > "DIAGNOSTICS MODE".
2. If there is a discrepancy, where the belt pack in question shows an older version of firmware, log onto the Clear-Com web site and down load the "Code Updater" and proceed to update the firmware.
Down Load (Tempest Code Updater ).
Open Tempest CodeUpdater on your PC and be sure to be connected to the internet. The code updater will connect via the internet to the Clear-Com home server, to locate the latest firmware version that is applicable to your beltpack.
Be sure the BeltStation is powered OFF.
Plug in your USB programming cable to your computer first.
Push and hold the CALL button on the front of the BeltStation and plug in the USB cable to the side USB-A connector on the BeltStation. The BeltStation will power ON automatically. Do not release the CALL button until the BeltStation display message appears. CodeUpdater will list the model of the equipment connected next to device.
The “Current Version” of firmware will display in CodeUpdater along with the “Latest Version” available (if applicable).
If an update is available check the box under “Upgrade Selection” and click the <Upgrade> button.
Repeat these steps as needed for each Tempest unit.
