HelixNet: What are some wiring recommendations for Analog and Digital Party Line cabling?
Analogue Partyline (Encore) cable recommendations 22 gauge Belden 8451 is OK for analog… 20 gauge is better,(Belden 8762) and 18 Gauge (8760) for long runs over 500 feet.
Digital Partyline (HelixNet) cable recommendations
For HelixNet digital systems, using the maximum of 10 BPs on a Power Line Modem line (there are two on each base) any good mic cable will work, except we don’t recommend Star-Quad or AES mic cable due to its high capacitance…but for a very rough estimate, you can use these calculations
Helixnet digital partyline - Power Limit Distance (meters) for 10 BPs
Cable type | distance (m) |
9463F | 289 |
9207 | 289 |
1800f | 142 |
1351a | 427 |
8412 | 289 |
