Question:  I want to take my existing configuration in slot one of my ECS 5.2 Median frame and allocate it as a backup to slot 4 on the frame.  How do I do this without disrupting the configuration in slot 1?
Answer:  The existing configuration in slot one can be downloaded to slot 4, the configuration name will be renamed slightly in ECS to avoid confusion (the configuration name has a .ccc extension).  Follow these steps to place the existing configuration into slots 2, 3 or 4.
1--  To allocate an existing configuration to a different matrix slot select the matrix frame by clicking over the matrix frame icon in the "System Layout" screen.  The matrix frame icon will be highlighted by a green line around the frame icon.
2 -- Click on the "Matrix Slot" on the ECS toolbar to open the menu listing the configuration slots available (1 to 4) and select the slot for the configuration, in this case select slot 4. 
3 -- Click on the "Configuration Manager" button at the bottom of the matrix frame icon, this will open the Configuration Manager screen, highlight the selected configuration name in the dialog screen and then press the "Activate" button.  ECS will open a Duplicate Configuration message box, select YES and ECS will now apply the duplicate configuration to the blank frame icon in slot 4. 
4 -- Click on the "Matrix Slot" on the ECS toolbar and select slot 1.  When the matrix frame icon is displayed for slot one use the mouse pointer and drag the existing slot one configuration name from the frame icon, this effectively removes the configuration from ECS slot one and makes it possible to download to slot 4 on the frame.
5 -- Click on the "Matrix Slot" on the toolbar again and return to slot 4.  The user is now ready to download the configuration to the Eclipse frame.  Select "Apply Changes", from the Apply Changes to Matrix Frame dialog screen click on "Options", place a check mark on "Reset Frame after Download" and click on the "OK" button to start the download. 
6 -- To verify that the configuration is resident in slot 4 manually toggle the configuration button on the processor card until the flashing number "4" is displayed on the LED display, then hold the button in until the # 4 disappears and release the button, the # 4 will reappear as a non-flashing "4" indicating a valid configuration in this slot, the frame is now operating on slot 4 configuration.
