Wireless: Configuring a WBS-670 system with a PTX-3 IFB transmitter and PRC-2 receivers

The PTX-3/ PRC-2 combo is wireless IFB transmitter and receiver system The WBS-670 is a (full duplex) UHF wireless intercom system
A WBS-670 basesation system can be connected PTX-3 / PRC-2 wireless IFB system . so that the PRC-2 units act as listen only wireless beltpack(s),
Connect the PTX-3 transmitter (set to 2-wire CC PL mode) to the 2-wire PL connections on the rear panel of the WBS-670 base.  If a wired PL system is in use the audio connections should be set.

If the WBS-670 and PTX-3 are used as a "stand alone" system the only change to the system architecture is the addition of a 200 ohm termination on the WBS-670 PL intercom 3-pin XLR.  This provides a termination to the 2-wire PL interface on the WBS-670 base station.  The customer could easilyconstruct a 200 ohm termination in a spare 3-pin XLR connector by soldering aresistor from pin 3 to pin 1.  Using the system without thetermination will result in the audio sounding somewhat tinny and overdriven andor squealing.
The other options are a) connect thePTX-3 to the WBS-670 auxiliary audio output 3-pin XLR as that connection sharesall wireless channels of the WBS base, The WBS aux output provides a 4wire line level signal . Therefore set the PTX-3 unit to accept line level audio b) connect the PTX-3 to the WBS channel 4wire output . Set the PTX-3 to balanced audio line level inputfor proper audio configuration.  using these two options, the termination resistorwould not be needed, simply set the WBS base for 4-wire mode on the frontpanel.
