Wireless: WBS-680 What is the procedure to link two WBS-680 bases together?
Two base stations can be linked together (in effect creating a single system with up to eight beltpacks) that are capable of using the wireless talk around function linked together and IC A and IC B functions. The transmitter in the second base is disabled and the frequency combinations selected so that two compatible frequency groups are used (example-G01A CHs 1-4 for first base, GO1A CHs 5-8 for the second base with Tx off).
Two standard 3-pin XLR cables are used to link the IC A and B intercom lines between both basestations and a standard CAT-5 cable is used to link the talk around functions between the two basestations.
If using the two linked basestations as a standalone system (no wired intercom) both IC lines on the second base will need to be loaded with 200 ohm loads from pin 1 to pin 3 of the rear panel IC XLR jacks on the basestation to provide an impedance match on the basestation intercom interfaces to prevent oscillations from occurring.
