Wireless: CellCom base antenna screen shows antenna, but no BPs connect to it

A CellCom base station can show a connected CEL-TA antenna of the front panel display screen even though it may not have a good E1 data signal on pins 1 or 2 or pins 4 or 5 of the CAT-5 cable.  This will show the following symptons on the CEL-TA antenna and the front panel ANTENNAS connected leds and front panel display antennas screen:
1.  The yellow data led on the CEL-TA will not be lit or only flash on/off intermittently
2.  The base station front panel ANTENNAs Ready display led will not light up
3.  No CEL-BP beltpacks will jump on to this antenna (no 1 to 20 indication on the antenna display screen).
If these symptoms present themselves, check the following items to determine the issue:
  • damaged or broken CAT-5 cable to the suspect antenna
  • check the suspect CEL-TA antenna RJ-45 connector for damaged or deformed pins
  • check the Splitter RJ-45 connector to the suspect CEL-TA antenna for deformed pins
