Partyline: Can I disable the MT-1 input/output terminations?
Partyline: Can I disable the MT-1 input/output terminations?
The MT-1 needs the internal terminationson the PCB because the transformers on the MT-1 can become unstable if theterminations are removed, thus it is NOT RECOMMENDED to remove the terminations on the PCB. When using an MT-1 turn off the termination at the PL mainstation or PL power supply. If the termination is in let’ssay a Cellcom base station where the termination is permanent, still disable thetermination in the unit and not at the MT-1.
Use only one MT-1 per PL channel, the use of more than one will result in a double termination / lower audio level on the channel.
The MT-1 unit is used to provide isolation between two powered PL systems where you have issues with ground loops or earth hum
