Wireless: Tempest Beltpacks go into searching mode while roaming
We made heavy use of the roaming features recently and are running in to an interesting issue.. sometimes the Tempest Beltpacks go into searching mode while roaming. We use 12-15 beltpacks and have 3 basestations
Answer: In order to get the full benefits of Tempest roaming each basestation must have spare beltpack slots available for BPs to roam in/ out of By default each base in normal mode can support 5 BPs, therefore to support roaming 2-3 slots must be left free for BPs to roam into.
Each BP can be individually configured to allow it to roam between (roaming enabled) bases or only stick with a particular base (roaming disabled)
In this application the customer was advised to set some BPs to have roaming disabled and only those crew members that needed to roam between areas enabled to roam
