Wireless: Does Tempest and DX wireless basestation support 3rd party directional antennas (US only)

There a large number of 2.4G directional antennas available in the market place.
Tempest and DX wireless basestations can be made to work with them as long as the antennas are fitted with the correct RF connectors. However we often find that correct placement of antennas is a major contributing factor to system performance. When using directional antennas, make sure to aim the antennas in the specific spot that you want to cover.
The use of directional antennas is governed by local country regulations. It is legal to use certain gain directional antennas in the US, and customers can purchase directional antennas from the Clear-Com:http://www.clearcom.com/product/wireless/tempest2400/tempest-directional-antenna
Some customers have also reported good performance when the following antennas, when its has been correctly placed and aligned:http://www.rfvenue.com/rf-venue-24-ghz-microphone-helical-antenna

It is IL-legal for Clear-Com to sell directional antennas in EMEA
