Matrix: Does the EXP-1016 Expansion Panel require firmware updates?

Question:  I bought a used EXP-1016 panel from a Matrix+3 system and want to use it on an existing ICS-1016E panel on a Eclipse Pico system.  Do I need to upgrade any firmware on the EXP-1016 panel before connecting it to the ICS-1016E panel?
Answer:  No firmware updates are required on the EXP-1016 expansion panel.  Simply connect the expansion panel to the main host panel via a DB-9F to DB-9M cable, reset the main host panel by power cycling or pressing the MIC, Speaker, A and B function simultaneously to reset the panel.  Go to ECS software and declare the expansion panel in Matrix Hardware advanced settings for the port that the ICS-1016E resides on and apply the changes in ECS.
