Wireless: Can I set a subnet mask and gateway for a CellCom Basestation IP address?
Wireless: Can I set a subnet mask and gateway for a CellCom Basestation IP address?
Question: I'm trying to connect a CellCom base station to an existing Ethernet LAN, but I can't ping the IP address when the base station is connected. We are using an IP address of 10.20.4.201 for the CellCom base station, my IT manager indicated that the CellCom base needs to have a valid subnet and gateway address in order to connect to our LAN which uses a gateway of 10.20.1.1. Is there any way to set the IP addressing on CellCom to accommodate the gateway address?
Answer: The IP addressing on CellCom currently doesn't allow the user to set a subnet mask and gateway for a selected IP address. The user will have to use an IP address that falls in the same subnet and gateway address.
