HelixNet: I can connect to my HMS-4X base station via ethernet, but can't change the configuration map
HelixNet: I can connect to my HMS-4X base station via ethernet, but can't change the configuration map
Question: I'm successfully connected to my HelixNet HMS-4X main station and can see the base and beltpacks on the web browser screen but when I try to change the channels on the front panel of the base in the CCM they don't change on the base station. Can you tell me why this is happening?
Answer: If you are using the default HMS-4X settings or have the base station role settings using the local configuration then the base station will not respond to changes. To fix this:
1. In the CCM web browser go to the "Roles" tab
2. Click on the "+ ADD" button to create a new "Main Station" role
3. Give this new role a name and select a template role (in this case use HMS Default) and click "DONE"
4. From the base station front panel programming meus select Station Settings / Preferences / Roles / new role name from
step 3 and highlight it in the right most programming display and press the knob in to apply it.
5. The base station will now respond to programming changes from the CCM web browser.
We always recommend that you create new role for Mainstations, Remote stations (HRM), speaker stations (HKB) and Helixnet BP when using the Helixnet v3 CCM setup rather than editing the default roles.
