How do I route HelixNet HMS SA Audio to an HRM SA Port or Linked LQ Port?
How do I route HelixNet HMS SA Audio to an HRM SA Port or Linked LQ Port?
Due to resource limitations of the HMS (HelixNet Main Station), the HMS is not able to assign its SA port to a channel. There is a solution that allows the user to route the HMS SA audio to a HRM (Remote Station) SA Port or to a linked LQ port.
- Create an XLR-3F to RJ45 cable where the audio pins from the XLR map to pins 4 & 5 on the RJ45 (See attached image/PDF)
- Connect XLR end to the HMS’s SA OUTPUT
- Connect RJ45 end to one of the HLI-4W2 ports
- Create a channel labelled “Stage Annc” and Assign the HLI-4W2 4-wire port
- Then also assign the linked LQ 4W port which the SA gear is attached (this is just one use case)
Other options would be to:
- Assign the SA port from an HRM paired to the HMS to this channel to output the analog audio out that SA port
- Assign an HLI-4W2 port on another linked HMS
- Now pressing on the HMS SA key will result in:
- HMS mic audio being routed to the SA XLR port on the rear of the HMS
- That Analog audio is then routed back into the HMS via the HLI-4W2 4-wire port
- The audio is then encoded into a digital signal and routed over the network to the linked LQ 4-wire port or HRM.
