Wireless: Upgrading from CellCom / FreeSpeak I basestation to a FreeSpeak II basestation
If you are upgrading an old CellCom / FreeSpeak I basestation to a FSII base station
please note that you will need to download the firmware application twice.
The FSII basestion has two memory banks.
1. Basestation stores the last 2 downloads of firmware. These two can be the same firmware, downloaded twice or separate firmwares.
2. Basestation should boot up by checking an internal flag as to the last downloaded firmware. Then boot up from that location3. Sometimes the base will not set the flag properly, so it will boot up from the wrong location
To ensure that the basestation always boots up correctly with the latest firmwareDownload the basestation app as per normal and wait for the basestation to reset itselfPower off the basestation for 1-2minsThen download the same firmware again to the basestation. This should ensure that both banks have the same firmware loaded
