Wireless: FSII BP BAT60 battery not reading correctly, powering up BP or not charging

If you find a BAT60 is not reading correctly or not powering up your FSII BP please try the following:

The minimum working voltage to power the battery’s fuel gauge and authentication circuit is V2.4.

A battery with a lower voltage in this condition may appear to be ‘defective’ because of longer than usual time to re-charge and recover from the low condition.

It is recommended to recharge a battery for at least 5-6 hours when it’s in this low voltage condition before deciding to exchange it out.

Evaluation Steps:

To evaluate if you have a defective BAT60, place the beltpack in the charger and look at the display.  You can tell it isn't charging if:

  1. The "A" button shows Green

  2. The display is showing "CHARGED"

  3. The battery is showing less than 100% charge

To confirm that the BAT60 is less than full, remove the battery from the beltpack and place it directly into the AC60 charger.

If the indicator immediately turns Green, this confirms a battery failure.

If the charger indicator instead turns Red, the battery is functioning correctly and further evaluation of the beltpack should be performed.

Please note, Federal and International regulation require that Li-Ion batteries are packaged separately and to be no more than 30% charged when transported. To meet this requirement, our Li-Ion batteries are shipped  at ≤30% of voltage capacity.
