We have done some installation like thisfor transport custom control at several airports.They use the system while they aretransporting / scanning freight containers arriving and leaving the airport.
Options DX100  Single channel base with Single channel beltpacksDX100 is ideal for this application and one of the target markets it was designed for.  - Reason #1 is that the base station is designed to be powered off external DC so vehicle mounting is easy to do by powering off the car battery accessory jack.  Reason # 2 as both antennas send and receive, one or both antennas can be remoted and mounted on top of the truck to improve range.  -Reason # 3 the system is encrypted (64 bit) which makes it much easier to use multiple systems in close proximity and minimize chances of interference.  Reason # 4 Lastly, the DX100 base was meant to be used in the field for applications like you describe as well as remote ENG and field work.  Accordingly, the base is much better sealed and resistant to rain and weather than the other base stations which are primarily used indoors.  - Another nice feature of the base station when it is being used in applications where it is powered by the main lines is that if power is lost it will switch over to the internal batteries which I believe will give 4+ hours of operation; a nice feature in emergency management situations where all power is lost.

Offers the same feature set but is a 2 channel unit
