Matrix: Upgrading a TEL-14 card to support ECS 4.2 or higher

Question:  I purchased a used TEL-14 interface card that was previously used in a Matrix +3 system.  Can I use it as is on a Eclipse 5.2.2 system?
Answer:  In order to use the TEL-14 card in a Eclipse System the processor IC (IC20 on the TEL-14 pcb) should be upgraded to Clear-Com part # 710755, this is a programmable pcb assembly that supports proper echo cancellation circuitry within Eclipse telephone operation.
The Matrix +3 IC20 processor part # 710440 can be replaced in the field, it is a 28 pin device seated in a IC socket (see picture below).  Using a standard Phillips screwdriver separate the two halves of the TEL-14 pcb and gently remove the 710440 IC using standard static safety precautions (hand strap or foot straps).

Insert the Eclipse TEL-14 processor assembly 710755 into the IC20 socket as shown in the picture below.  The programming connector should be facing away from the front panel.  Once the new processor assembly is seated re-assemble the two halves of the TEL-14 card.  No programming of the new part is required, it was programmed at the factory.
