TCP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) is one of the protocols within the TCP/IP suite.  It’s the protocol that establishes the method used to move data packets from one device to another successfully.  TCP/IP defines how electronic devices (like computers) should be connected to the Internet, and how data should be transmitted between them.
